Delighted to raise £10k to support activities for young people with Down’s Syndrome

Following a successful year of fundraising, we donated £10,000 to Down’s Syndrome Association, a sum which will support the charity’s programme of activities for young people in 2025.

Each year, the firm selects a charity partner and sets about raising funds through staff and client initiatives, challenges and events. As well as a sponsored 15-mile walk along the Causeway Coast in 2024, the firm hosted ‘dress down Fridays’, a staff ‘bake-off’, competed in the ‘Business 5s’ football tournament and held a festive fundraising film event in Queen’s Film Theatre to raise as much money as possible for Down’s Syndrome Association.

“Our annual charity partnerships are turning into a very rewarding part of working life at Millar McCall Wylie,” comments Emma Rooney, director with the firm.

“After a busy year in 2024, we are delighted to be presenting £10,000 to Down’s Syndrome Association, who support people who have Down’s syndrome, as well as their parents and carers.

“Our team have been brilliant about fundraising so enthusiastically all year, from pulling on their walking shoes, football boots and even elf attire! Every year they live out our company values and commitment to supporting the local community. We would like to thank our people, clients and partners who have been so generous with their time and money throughout the year.”

Donna Lynch, Down’s Syndrome Association, added: “This fantastic amount raised by Millar McCall Wylie will cover all activities for our young people throughout 2025.  This money will help us dispel loneliness, create new opportunities and enhance the quality of life for our young people. It is greatly appreciated, and we thank everyone who worked so hard to fundraise in the many creative ways they did.”
