Statement – Millar McCall Wylie

Mesothelioma is a disease that many may have heard or read about in the news this week. A type of lung cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, there are, sadly, around 50 new cases of Mesothelioma diagnosed in Northern Ireland every year.
Mesothelioma UK is a charity dedicated to supporting mesothelioma patients and their families. The charity helps provide information, support and help with benefits or compensation for people affected by the disease. In Northern Ireland, Millar McCall Wylie works directly with Mesothelioma UK to help patients seek compensation in relation to asbestos exposure through their workplace, even if their employer or former employer is no longer in operation. Both organisations are keen to remind anyone who has been diagnosed with Mesothelioma to seek legal advice so they can fully understand their rights and, where possible, be rightly compensated.
Liz Darlison MBE DL, CEO of Mesothelioma UK comments: “We are committed to doing all we can to support patients and families across Northern Ireland. We urge anyone affected to reach out to us and where appropriate, seek advice from our legal panel, details of which can be found on our website.”
